Project Details
Why we support this project
This project comprises a bundle of grid-connected wind energy power plants located in Rajasthan, India, with a combined installed capacity of approximately 29.76 MW. By generating clean, renewable electricity and supplying it to the regional grid, the project displaces power that would otherwise be produced from fossil fuel–based sources, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Beyond its climate benefits, the project supports sustainable economic and environmental development by harnessing the region's abundant wind resources.
Project Proponent
Wind World (India) Limited (WWIL), formerly Enercon (India) Ltd., is a leading wind energy company that has installed over 5,700 wind energy converters (WECs) across India, spanning the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh, with a total installed capacity exceeding 4,200 MW. WWIL continues to operate and maintain these WECs, and has established the Wind World Training Academy in Daman to support its operations, maintenance and asset management teams. The company operates a portfolio of renewable wind energy projects across India, registered under both the VCS and CDM standards.
